Hyundai’s been making computers since the eighties, starting (I think) with the Blue Chip PC XT clones.

Hyundai is like Samsung and has its corporate fingers in a lot of different pies...construction equipment, cars, electronics, military equipment...

They also built the SNES under license for the Korean market, which they sold as the Hyundai Super Comboy.

This was also preceded by the regular Comboy, based off the NES.
I believe it had something to do with a law prohibiting foreign companies from selling game consoles in Korea, or something like that. Samsung made a rebadged Mega Drive/Genesis as well called the Super Aladdin (it could play games other than Aladdin too).

My father used to design furniture for Hyundai when I was a kid. This was before we got their cars, so when those arrived, I was like, a furniture company is making cars now?
